What is the difference between the XPlus insert and the standard cylinder?

The XPlus cylinder differs from the standard one by allowing the operation of several locks with a single key. With the XPlus code card, you can easily duplicate a key if it is lost, which is not possible with standard locks. Standard locks do not have a uniform key, so each lock requires a separate key.
