Brake disc mounting systems

There are several popular brake disc mounting systems, which differ in mounting method and compatibility with bicycle hubs. Here are the most common solutions:

• Center Lock System – Developed by Shimano, it uses a center locking ring that allows for quick and convenient disc mounting and removal. This solution provides good stability and a precise fit, while reducing the risk of the disc coming loose while riding.
• Six-bolt system (6-bolt) – This is a classic and widely used mounting method, in which the disc is bolted to the hub with six bolts. It is characterized by high versatility and compatibility with many hub models, as well as high resistance to overloading.
