The Speedbox 1.6 B.Tuning Bosch is a chip with built-in Bluetooth designed to unlock the speed limit on e-bikes equipped with 5th generation Bosch Smart System motors. It is compatible with Performance Line CX and CX-R motors and features a magnet on the rear wheel valve. Thanks to Bluetooth, it allows you to set and adjust speed limits directly from your smartphone.

How do I activate/deactivate SpeedBox 1.6 B.Tuning for Bosch?

The easiest way is through the SpeedBox App, which you can download from Google Play and the App Store. Simply connect to the SpeedBox via Bluetooth to easily remove or set the speed limit. The app also provides useful information about the engine.

You can also enable or disable the speed limiter using the WALK button (by holding down “-”)—the display should show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph), which means the speed limit is set to 35 km/h. Another way is to press the button combination – + – +.

If the feature is deactivated, the display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph)—this indicates that the feature has been deactivated and the factory limit of 25 km/h has been restored.

Installation

Installing the SpeedBox is simple, but it requires removing the engine cover and replacing the magnet on the rim with the one provided by SpeedBox.

How to avoid problems when using SpeedBox?

• Leave the e-bike turned on after each ride until the “Countdown” (distance calculation) is complete.
• During a short stop, keep one foot on the pedal to prevent the countdown from starting.
• During a longer stop, allow the countdown to complete at least partially.
• After a long ride, the countdown may take several minutes—do not disconnect the display until the process is complete.
• Do not disconnect the display before the countdown is complete.
• Do not perform software updates—disable automatic updates.
• Always activate or deactivate tuning before or after a ride, never during one.
• Do not exceed the set maximum speed of 35 km/h.
