Speedbox 3.1 for Brose motors allows you to disable or change the speed limit.
- After installing Speedbox, the display continues to show the actual speed (some Speedbox models falsify it).
How does Speedbox 3.1 for Brose work?
Once Speedbox 3.1 Brose is installed, it can be activated by briefly pressing the WALK button. The display should show 99 km/h (62 mph), and the bike is now unlocked.
To turn off tuning, simply press and hold the WALK button again briefly. The display will show 25 km/h (16 mph).
If your bike does not have a control unit with a WALK function, you can use the + – + – button combination to activate/deactivate the Speedbox.
You can set your own speed limit by changing the assistance modes three levels down and then three levels up: TURBO – TRAIL – ECO – OFF – ECO – TRAIL – TURBO. The new speed limit will appear on the display. The speed limit can be changed every 5 km/h.
The speed indicator in the Specialized Mission Control app is not working properly. If you have a Turbo Connect Display (for Brose Specialized motors) without a display on your e-bike, we recommend purchasing the B.Tuning version compatible with the SpeedBox app.
Activating and deactivating tuning on e-bikes with SRAM Powertrain motors
For SRAM Powertrain motor, activation and deactivation are identical to those of brose motors (using the WALK button or the + – + – button combination). The only difference is the way in which the display shows the new speed after the change:
- Active tuning – the display will show a battery value of 99%, which means that assistance is limited to 99 km/h.
- Inactive tuning – the display will show a battery value of 25%, which means a default limit of 25 km/h.
Installation
Installing Speedbox 3.1 on Brose is extremely simple. All you need to do is connect the appropriate Speedbox plugs to the motor (as shown in the diagram in the photo). The manufacturer has also prepared a video showing how to install Speedbox on a bike.
Before installing Speedbox on a new bike, ride it for at least 10 km.
