How to choose a charger for Shimano STEPS?

• Check the battery voltage: Make sure that the charger matches your battery voltage. Remember that the charging voltage is always higher than the battery voltage – for example, a 42 V charger is used for 36 V batteries.
• Verify compatibility with the motor: Read the charger description to make sure it is compatible with your motor. Some chargers may physically fit, but will not charge certain batteries due to communication with the battery’s BMS.
• Choose the charging current: For faster charging, choose a 4 A charger. If your bike is parked overnight or you ride infrequently, 2 A is sufficient.
