A third-generation smart product with the ability to set speed limits for Specialized e-bikes, including SL motors.
SpeedBox 3.0 allows you to freely set the speed limiter on your e-bike. After installation, the e-bike’s display shows real data such as maximum speed, average speed, daily distance traveled, and range.
How does SpeedBox 3.0 for Specialized work?
You install SpeedBox 3.0 inside the e-bike frame under the TCU/TCD unit. The display will show a maximum support speed of 50 km/h. You can save the tuning activation by turning the e-bike off and on twice. After this, the tuning remains active.
You can deactivate the tuning by switching down three levels from TURBO mode, then up three levels (TRAIL – ECO – OFF – ECO – TRAIL – TURBO). The display will show a maximum support speed of 25 km/h. You can save the deactivation by turning the e-bike off and on twice. After this, the tuning is inactive.
You can change the maximum support speed again by switching down three levels and then up three levels. The display will show a maximum support speed of 25 km/h. With each brief activation of the WALK function, the maximum support speed increases by 5 km/h. For example, 25 km/h on the display corresponds to a limit of 25 km/h, and 50 km/h corresponds to a 50 km/h limit. The last set limit is saved after 5 seconds of inactivity. The set limit must be confirmed by turning the e-bike off and on twice.
If you want to check the current maximum support speed, use the button combination + – + -.
Installation
We use color-coded plugs with a key for mounting SpeedBox on your bike, making the installation really simple. Additionally, we’ve prepared instructions and tutorial videos so that any customer can install SpeedBox independently. If you encounter any problems during installation, you can always contact us for assistance.
If you are installing SpeedBox on a brand-new bike, make sure you have ridden at least 1 kilometer on it first.
Detailed installation information can be found here.

- Update the firmware.
- Reinstall SpeedBox in the e-bike and turn it off and on twice again. SpeedBox will remain active.
