SpeedBox allows the deactivation of the e-bike’s speed limiter.

How does SpeedBox 1.2 for Bosch work?

To correctly activate all SpeedBox functions, after turning on the e-bike, you need to enter the menu and go to the e-bike circumference information.

You can activate SpeedBox 1.2 for Bosch on your e-bike’s display. Do not activate it while riding! After activation, you will briefly see a speed of 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) on the WALK function display. From this point, you can ride at 35 km/h. You can change the default speed limit to any value (up to 99 km/h), but to minimize the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.

After reactivating the WALK function, the tuning will turn off. Do not deactivate while riding! The display will show a value of 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph), meaning the 25 km/h speed limit is active again. The e-bike will work just like before the SpeedBox tuning installation.

If the e-bike does not have a WALK function, you can activate it by using the – + – + button combination. The same method is used to deactivate SpeedBox.

Tuning can be deactivated by gradually switching modes from TURBO down three levels and then back up three levels: eMTB – TOUR+ – ECO – TOUR+ – eMTB – TURBO. After this, the current speed limit will appear on the screen. Switching the maximum speed limit is done by briefly activating the WALK function or by spinning the wheel 360°. A speed of 2.5 km/h corresponds to a limit of 25 km/h, 3.0 corresponds to 30 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, and so on. The last displayed limit will be saved after 15 seconds.

If you use SpeedBox, you must leave the bike turned on after completing your ride until the speed reads 0.0 km/h on the display. During this phase, the screen will show the elapsed time. Then you can safely turn off the bike and enjoy your upcoming ride.

Installation

To install SpeedBox tuning on your e-bike, we use color-coded plugs equipped with a key, making installation really simple. We also provide instructions and instructional videos, so any customer can install the tuning independently. If you encounter any problems with installation, you can always contact us for help.

If you are preparing to install SpeedBox on a brand-new bike, make sure you have ridden at least 10 kilometers before activating the tuning.

Important

Connect male and female connectors in the direction of the lock. Do not twist the connectors while connecting!

Warning

We warn that using tuned bikes may be illegal in certain countries. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages resulting from the use of the SpeedBox product. E-bikes with SpeedBox tuning should not be used on public roads or bike paths. They can be used on private property at your own risk. Installing the SpeedBox product may void the warranty of the e-bike.

We suggest using other safety products to protect against injury.

• In the case of a short stop, to smoothly continue riding, we recommend keeping one foot on the pedal to avoid triggering the countdown.
• For longer breaks, allow for at least partial countdown.
• After a long ride, the countdown may take a few minutes.
• Do not remove the display until the countdown is complete.
• The activation/deactivation of tuning should always be done before riding, not during.
• We recommend not exceeding a speed of 35 km/h.
• We advise against updating the e-bike’s software to avoid tuning detection.
• Please disable automatic updates in the Ebike Flow App settings.
• Note that the warranty on the SpeedBox product does not cover malfunction caused by motor software updates.
